So, here, we have identified a large part of the problem. Note the patch of fuzz that looks like something crawled inside and died...The outgoing airflow on the heatsink was heavily obstructed, not to mention the abundance of dust and what-not on the heatsink fins themselves. So, cleaning that out, will be getting some Isopropyl Alcohol to do the final cleaning, so sadly, it probably won't be all finished tonight.

Oh my! My poor computer!!...it needed a bath badly apparently. Who knew one should rip apart their computer into bits and pieces in order to keep it working properly? Apparently YOU. ReplyDeleteHehe. :-D John suggested that I put the heat sink in the dishwasher. I was strongly tempted to, it was that bad. But it looks vastly better now.
